First Day

Well, the first day has come and gone. I was surprisingly calm - a gift from God for sure. The day went very well. My Father's World comes with a Training Manual (which I've mentioned) and it is very helpful. It has a lesson plan check list thing for every day. It took a while for us to get through the list. I think that once it is more familiar we will get through it sooner. Abigail did such a good job and I was so proud of her. She was great about getting her work done. Audrey, on the other hand, is taking this homeschool adventure a little hard. She would much rather play than work and complains while working. She said several times that she wants to go back to her old school. I am hoping that it gets better. Also, Adam would much rather play with the girls than play by himself. I need to get (or organize) some activities for him to do at the table with us. I think these are normal obstacles and I'm confident that we can overcome them. Especially with God leading our way. =)

  1. I'm glad that you were calm and that you had a successful first day! Another idea for Adam would be to have a special box of toys that he *only* gets to play with when the girls are having school. I am lucky that Isaiah likes to play independently sometimes. ;)

  2. Hooray! Sounds like you had a good first day. You're right. Obstacles will pop up & you will find ways to manage them. Good job, teacher! :)
