This week we read from the book, "How the Bible Came to Us." It's informative, but I feel like it's a review of what we learned last year. When we start getting into the New Testament, I'll feel like we're learning something new to us. For vocabulary, the girls are learning Latin roots. They are learning more words per week than last year, and I think they are adjusting well. I will say that I've been pretty relaxed these two weeks because it still feels like summer. Once we get into week 3, I think I'll be more strict. We have been reading about the way of life in Roman times. We have also been reading about Augustus Caesar, which I find interesting, but I know Audrey is bored. I'm glad that Abby pays attention when I read. =) The science is more fun this year than last year. The book, "The Human Body for Every Kid" is pretty good, and I like the projects and activities.
I think Adam did a wonderful job with the first 10 days of Kindergarten. I made him a chart of all the things he had to do, and when he got his boxes checked he could choose a sticker for the day. If he got 5 stickers in a week, he could have an ice cream cone. That motivated him pretty well. After a one-week break, we will start back with Lesson 1 - The Sun (Space), Letter S.
